just uploaded the Jackson Katz poster i did for campus life. it happens on the same day as Wes Moss so i wanted them to kind of be related, i tried treating some of the type and image placement the same way and i think it mostly worked. not that anyone will really notice. i finished my first project for Image Making 2 on wednesday, but i don't think i'm going to bother uploading it. not my best work. maybe some of the illustrations are worth looking at, but that's about it. it was a bad project, but our second one is even worse: collaging toy model instructions, building the model from our collage, writing a poem about the instructions, and then giving a performance based on the whole thing. for IMAGE making, mind you. i know, life is hard...

going to see dave chappelle tonight for free (one of the perks of being employed by campus life). it should be fun, i thought his latest stand up dvd was pretty good.

from newstoday.com, i checked this out yesterday and was fairly impressed. design students writing about being design students, sounds good. the writing pales in comparison to more established design blogs (designobserver.com running away with the gold in that category), but it's exciting to see from people my age. the EMU design community, while actually having one of the better undergrad programs in the state, is lacking big time. most kids (though definitely not all) i've had classes with don't seem to give two shits about it, this is their major but they treat it as if it was any other class that they just had to meet the minimum requirements of and get their degree. it's fucking sad but that's what the AIGA is for, i guess.

might try making this site look pretty in the next few days. stark minimalism is usually pretty fun too though, so we'll see
