even though i'm mostly playing advance wars, i got a new nintendog yesterday. her name is stella and she's a brown cavalier. she's way smarter than the other dogs and learned three tricks in about as many minutes..obedience trials here i come. it's hard to explain the appeal of nintendogs really. it's really not at all like the tamagachi (sp?) craze that was popular a few years ago. i've heard it compared to an RPG but i dont think that's quite right either. eh, kudos to nintendo for making something that's not easily classifiable.
i should really work on my image making 2 project but i'm not sure i can make myself right now. not when i have the rest of a dame to kill for waiting for me to finish. reading through sin city is making me want to draw comics again. that's a scary thought.

Stephen Malkmus - Wow Ass Jeans
i added links to pictures and pdfs of recent design work i've done for work or school. ryan told me i needed to make a real website for my stuff but i'm lame and lazy and right now this will do. the campus life brochure is nearly 19mb but it's probably the best thing i've ever done. i need to take pictures of the print version so future employers can see scale and whatnot.
my brother is really into podcasts but it's taken me some time. KCRW podcasts the Morning Becomes Eclectic show, but so far nobody good has been on. i'm trying out NPR's All Songs Considered right now but they're talking about the Rolling Stones with an editor from Spin, so i'm not sure i'll make it all the way through. any suggestions?

THE HOCKEY NEWS
two of my favorite sites right now. design encyclopedia is brand new, shaping up to be wikipedia for design nerds. there aren't that many entries yet but this is an idea who's time has come, this could be a really big deal in just a few months or so. the entry on apple computer is a bit gushy though.
hockey news: finally there is news. hockey is back and better than (maybe) ever. a meaningless shootout in a preseason game had me more excited than any superbowl. the demise of the wings has been greatly exaggerated. the hockey news is far and away the best place for hockey info on the net, the print version is also a goldmine.
if you have OS 10.4 you need the BBC Listen Live dashboard widget. the Radio 1 afternoon guys (and girl) bring me right back to letterpress studio with Dave Dabner. the music isn't that good but it's about twelve thousand times more entertaining than radio stations here (except maybe WCBN). programming schedules available here.
